Listening and giving attention (without interruptions) is a difficult task for parents (myself included). I have often thought that parents need to give their kids "one hour" sessions similar to seeing a therapist where they would have that parents undivided attention and respect. Will you be including a section in your book for us homeschooling parents? :) I try not to be a "helicopter parent" in the late afternoon/evening, when the kids are doing their homework. It gives me a chance to take off the teacher hat too. <br /><br />Your wife's friend sounds like such an inspiration! One I need; that's for sure! HA! And when I say that, I mean "EVER!" <br /><br />Our pastor says Love is spelled T-I-M-E. <br /><br />I couldn't agree with you more Mr. McNerny! Spend time with the children! Be a part of their lives. Take interest in them. I see many disengaged parents, yet those are often the parents saying, "Why do these kids act like that?
